Naomi Alicia Fowler
Fotógrafo, Escritor, Cineasta
Criado en Brighton, crecí apegado al campo debido a los caballos que mi familia ha tenido desde que era niño. Ser un propietario de caballos experimentado que creció me ha hecho extremadamente apasionado por el aire libre y por explorar nuevos lugares.
Mientras crecía, estaba muy al aire libre y aventurero desde una edad temprana con un amor por el campo rural del Reino Unido. Debido a mi infancia, esto impulsó mi pasión por viajar más lejos una vez que cumplí 18 años. Desde los 18 años, viajé a más de 30 países y viví en la India durante casi 2 años. Disfruto de la oportunidad de viajar a nuevos lugares, capturar y obtener nuevas experiencias con mi conjunto de habilidades desarrollado.
Soy un apasionado de las diversas culturas alrededor del mundo, los viajes y el aire libre y continuaré buscando nuevos lugares y encuentros para desarrollar mi cartera.

Para mí, una imagen vale más que 1000 palabras y puede hacerte retroceder una y otra vez para volver a visitar esa historia, emoción o entusiasmo que evoca dentro de ti.
La fotografía, la filmación, la edición y la dirección es un arte que se lleva a cabo más allá del clic de un botón. Busco una conexión con la que mi cliente y mi audiencia puedan relacionarse. Busco un tema o una atmósfera que hable a la cámara y cuente una historia. Tener la capacidad de crear imágenes visuales para contar historias ayuda a mi audiencia a encapsular una experiencia.
Culture and landscape around the world are at threat due to climate change, pollution, the eradication of natural resources, land privatisation, post-colonial political structures and the lack of funding. I aim to celebrate the achievements constructed by tourism boards, businesses, and non-profit and non-government organisations to help share the stories of their successes and overall impact.
With a global fight to preserve culture and tradition for the next generation; indigenous people are adapting to climate change, uplifting their communities with grassroots initiatives and connecting to their local landscape by implementing revolutionary restoration projects which I want to document. Traditional and economic practices amongst communities whose lives have been fragmented because of a change in climate, poverty and inequality are issues which people within the creative industry have the power to talk about by sharing in these intimate stories.
Partnering with clients to document these realities, helps to challenge people's decisions to take action by supporting campaigns, businesses and organisations who empower human rights, and protect the environment and its inhabitants while highlighting the importance of protecting wildlife and preserving culture. I am immersing myself within cultures and communities, including my own, to understand our changing world and to help give landscape, wildlife and heritage at risk of extinction a voice.
Many indigenous communities continue to hold onto their traditions and native landscape. We have to take into consideration an aspect of life the modern world has begun to leave behind; such as living in harmony with the natural world, the joy of community and the benefits it has on our mental health, knowledge of the land and the importance of using natural resources sustainably, local foods produced with ancient regenerative agricultural methods, the abundance of wild native foods and plant medicines on our doorsteps and the benefit of preserving artisan skills and crafts. These are wisdoms our ancestors all had access to which I want to highlight through my work as a journalist and photographer.
Every day people around the world are being forced to adapt to new ways of living. I believe it's important to remember while the West has ‘advanced’ far beyond most communities in the world, we should take into consideration the advancement of knowledge from ancient and Indigenous culture's relationship to the earth, with my belief that the modern world has a lot to learn by supporting and empowering their spiritual and sustainable way of life.
En el futuro, me gustaría usar mi fotografía para documentar las comunidades rurales y del mundo en desarrollo, sus tradiciones, cultura y los efectos que el cambio climático puede tener sobre ellas.
Me gustaría usar mis habilidades para revivir, preservar y crear conciencia sobre culturas agonizantes y cómo podemos ayudarlas a través del ecoturismo.
Los seres humanos son algunos de los seres más resistentes y adaptables de este planeta y sigue asombrándome a través de las vastas y vibrantes culturas a las que he viajado.
Estoy preparado para sumergirme en diferentes culturas para documentar su estilo de vida a través de imágenes, documentación escrita y en video.
My Inspiration
Las personas que conozco mientras viajo han inspirado algunos de mis momentos favoritos de retratos y reportajes de viajes. El fotógrafo de National Geographic Steve McCurry ha influido en mi trabajo seleccionado, el amor por conocer gente nueva y descubrir nuevas historias mientras viajo. Esto me ha llevado a sumergirme en diferentes culturas para documentar mi experiencia.
He trabajado junto a los principales medios de comunicación y fotoperiodistas en Varanasi como fotógrafo tomando imágenes para la famosa ceremonia de Ganga Seva Nidhis Dev Deepawali en Dasashwamedh Ghat. Una ceremonia que tiene lugar después de Diwali donde los ghats se iluminan con linternas.
Varias veces mi imagen apareció en el periódico indio local en Varanasi e incluso en la época del Indostán debido a mi amor y fascinación por la cultura.
